Audience - How do we consume music?

People listen to music for a variety of reasons. Some people use music to express how they feel and to relate with a song. Some people have to listen to music everyday and they feel extremely passionate about it. Some people listen to music to dance to or cheer them up if they are down as it may remind them of a happier time in their life.

Music is consumed in many different places such as at clubs, festivals, cars and in peoples homes. Large amounts of people go to gigs and festivals that feature a lot of music. Most people enjoy seeing music live as there is an atmosphere created by the crowds. Advances in technology has allowed us to access music from almost anywhere. This is due to mp3 players and mobile phones. We also have access to many streaming services that allow people to stream music from anywhere with an internet connection.

Many people have music in the background of their lives this is to break the silence and also helps some people to concentrate. Some people also get inspired by music so it helps them while they are working. People don't like long periods of silence so they music to stop silence and also music stops people from getting bored.

I only listen to music when it is on in my house or a friend shows me something they like. I don't tend to listen to music as it distracts me when I work and I never feel the urge to listen to music. I also don't relate music with my personal feelings and emotions which many people do. My family often access music through CD's, TV, YouTube and radio. They mostly listen to popular music which is in the charts.
